City Life — Living Comfortably with Under $60k a Year
from PIA Western Alliance
The cost of living — especially in larger cities — has grown almost unaffordable. Wages definitely aren't keeping up with living expenses. The Census Bureau points out that the average household income in the U.S. is $57,617 yet we spend — on average — $57,311 a year just to survive. That doesn't leave much. Live in a major city like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland or any number of other Western cities and $57,617 isn't close to what's needed.
