A scientist's story
At ICIM I will speak about the field of molecular immunology, my beliefs that modern medicine should leave the world of small organic molecule drugs and enter the world of personalized cellular medicine. If small molecules could truly treat and not just alleviate symptoms in our patents we would probably be made of small organic molecules and not complex cellular systems. Human bodies have a complex cellular system known as our immune system to protect us from disease and disorders and we must learn to use the power of modern molecular biology to augment and direct this wonderful natural system as the choice of therapy in the future. Nowhere is this truer than in cancer therapy.
