This week's Training Minute: Tactical Behavior Science
When confronted with challenging information or questioning that causes anxiety, people will almost automatically withdraw their feet under their chair. This is a very reliable gesture to read. Remember this rule: The further away from the head a body part is, the harder it is to control during periods of anxiety. When you see the feet wrap around the legs of the chair, rest assured you won't be getting any more info out of that person until you've made them more comfortable. This leg-wrapping is a strong indicator of concealment and psychological wall-building.
