San Diego's scientific community confronts #MeToo as women in science speak out

Nearly 400 people packed a seminar last month focused on women breaking the barriers of science and navigating the thorny issues of sexual harassment in the workplace that featured some of the top women in the field. Panelists and speakers held a frank discussion about their experiences with sexual discrimination, and in some cases, how they were able to rise above obstacles in a male-dominated culture.
