Faith institute in Dallas will encourage women to become preachers, leaders
from The Dallas Morning News
A women's faith gathering this weekend will feature a Southern Methodist University assistant professor's discussion about how early religious thought in England paved the way for the transatlantic slave trade and colonization. Tamara Lewis, an assistant professor of the history of Christianity at SMU's Perkins School of Theology, will also talk about how she believes 16th- and 17th-century Protestant doctrine led to racial practices in early England.
