DHS, Coast Guard launch Ready for Rescue Challenge to develop new boater safety solutions

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate, in collaboration with the U.S. Coast Guard Research and Development Center, recently launched the U.S. Coast Guard Ready for Rescue Challenge, a $255,000 prize competition that seeks boater safety solutions that will help make it easier to find people in the water. "Boater safety solutions that harness new designs and technologies can improve the chance of a successful rescue," said William N. Bryan, DHS Senior Official Performing the Duties as Under Secretary for Science and Technology. "New, innovative solutions are critical."
