Depressive symptoms have greater negative effect on MS functional outcomes than anxiety

In individuals with multiple sclerosis, depressive symptoms are more disabling than symptoms of anxiety, and therefore require priority for treatment, according to results of a study published in the Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences. Depression and anxiety are common in patients with MS and contribute to the overall morbidity of the disease.
