Province proposes one-year extension of moratorium on water bottling permits
from Wellington Advertiser
It will be at least another year before the province makes a decision on a proposed Nestlé Waters Canada well on Middlebrook Road. The Ontario government recently announced it plans to extend the moratorium on new water bottling permits to Jan. 1, 2020. During the moratorium the province will review "water quantity science, policies, and programs," particularly "the use of groundwater to produce bottled water," states the website of the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP).
