Commission For Global Dimensions Of Student Development Webinar: Rooming With International Students: The Psychological Impact On Host National Students
Tomorrow, November 9 | 11 a.m. Eastern
It is very important, in this age of cost-benefit analysis and budget cuts, that college campuses are efficiently preparing students for our globalized world. Many schools have international students on campus to help reach this goal, but there is no data describing how living with an international student can impact the overall mental health and well-being of the American roommate. This webinar describes preliminary data in that domain brought to light via a qualitative research study performed by the host, Cody Rosenbarker. Six host national students, 16-22 years old at the time of their experience and had lived in a residence hall with an international student roommate or suite mate, helped create a first look into the potential benefits and drawbacks.
