Video screening cuts jail time, reduces court 'no shows'
from Albuquerque Journal
Each day, people who have been arrested, photographed and fingerprinted at the Albuquerque (New Mexico) Metropolitan Detention Center are released before they ever see the inside of a jail cell or a judge — after they have been screened via video hookup by a court intake officer who decides if the defendant is a good bet to show up in court.
