Donations Requested in Honor of Dr. Tamara O'Neal
On November 19, 2018, emergency physician Dr. Tamara O'Neal was shot and killed by her former fiance in the parking lot of Mercy Hospital in Chicago. The University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) Brown Coats and the American Foundation for Firearm Injury Reduction in Medicine (AFFIRM) initiated a fundraiser on her behalf shortly after.
In support of this initiative, the Illinois College of Emergency Physicians (ICEP) has increased the fundraising goal to $50,000.
Funds will be matched 1:1 once this goal is reached.
"Out of despair we can turn a tragic event into good with lasting positive impact for all those affected by all forms of violence, including interpersonal and gun violence," says ICEP President Janet Lin, MD, MPH.
Please include the words "UIC/ICEP" in the optional note section to be included in the matched funds.
