From Jan. 9: The discussion over the preferred entry-level degree for professional nurses has been ongoing since 1964, when the American Nurses Association came out in favor of the BSN. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo recently signed legislation mandating that all new nurses in the Empire State earn a BSN within 10 years of initial licensure. Now the conversation is heating up again, and nurses everywhere are taking notice. more
