New Obesity Virtual Issue: Best of Pediatric Obesity

From Sept. 20: Stakeholders from multiple sectors acknowledge the looming threat of pediatric obesity and the serious implications it has for the health of our children, not to mention the dire economic consequences of failing to adequately address it. Research will be the catalyst that propels us forward as we begin to identify priority areas aimed at prevention, uncover the complex and multifactorial etiology of obesity, and discover innovative treatments that are effective, safe, and practical.

In recognition of National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month in September, the Editors of Obesity have partnered with The Obesity Society's (TOS) Pediatric Obesity Section to highlight our best and recent pediatric studies in a new virtual issue titled “Pediatric Obesity: From Etiology/Prevention to Treatment and Beyond." This special online feature contains a sampling of recent high-impact articles published in Obesity, selected by members of TOS’ Pediatric Obesity Section. These studies address topics ranging from early life determinants of obesity, to body mass index and fat mass trajectories, to improving systems of care and beyond. Meaningful progress in the field of pediatric obesity will require all hands on deck, with our indispensable research community leading the way. more
