COA member has first 2019 baby born at Royal Columbian Hospital
from Vancouver Sun
The race to be the first baby born in B.C. was over one minute into 2019, with the birth of a boy at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster. Dominik Soswa, who faced a bank of cameras at just 11 hours old, didn't have much to say, swaddled and sleeping soundly in mother Janet Shimizu's arms. He was so new to the world that dad Lukasz Soswa decided on the spot, when asked by reporters, to spell his son's name with a "k" and not a "c."
