Building permits up sharply in Pennsylvania in 2018, especially compared with neighboring states
from Franklin Center for Government & Public Integrity
Building permits issued nationally have increased significantly across the U.S. so far in 2018 when compared to the same time frame in 2017. The December 2017 federal tax cuts, in this respect at least, appear to have done exactly what they were designed to do in sparking growth across many segments of the economy. And the growth in the issuance of building permits in Pennsylvania has dramatically outpaced the nation and most of the state’s neighbors. That’s according to a Watchdog.org analysis of building permit data that is released monthly by the U.S. Census Bureau.
