Georgia Gov. Kemp's new school bus safety law now in effect
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has signed his first bill into law. Senate Bill 25 went into effect Monday, Feb. 18 and is geared towards keeping Georgia students safe. The new law forces all drivers on the road to stop for a stopped school bus. Prior to the new law going into effect, it was technically legal for Georgia drivers to pass a stopped school bus when there was a painted turn lane in between them.
