It's official: Big is now the name of the game
Go big or go home—that’s Detroit’s strategy now. Ford became the latest automaker to officially capitulate to the bigger-is-better philosophy when it announced this week it will boost output of its two largest SUVs, Expedition and Navigator, by 20 percent. The company also unveiled a new marketing slogan for the mammoth models: “Built to Be a Better Big.” The Detroit 3 have essentially abandoned the passenger car market and are dependent on their largest—and most profitable—products.
