There are venerable landmarks throughout the city and in High Park one of the most resolute is the Alhambra United Church. Its sturdy, neo-Gothic presence at the corner of High Park Avenue and Annette Street has been a stalwart part of the community since 1908. The former church still anchors the southeast corner of the leafy neighbourhood, but it will soon be renovated and expanded to include a four-storey condo addition. Together the new glass and brick structure and the heritage building will accommodate 70 spacious condo units spread over four floors — 55 in the new build and 15 in the church sanctuary.
