Placer County, California, weighs farm needs, neighbor concerns in new agritourism zoning amendment
from Sacramento Business Journal
Placer County, California, is updating its rural zoning rules to reflect the new way vineyard owners and other growers are doing business. The Placer County Planning Commission is scheduled to take public comment Thursday on the environmental impact report on its proposed revision to winery zoning. The public comment period will stay open until June 10, and the new rule could be adopted by the end of the year. The draft ordinance reflects that, increasingly, wineries and farm breweries are looking to hold events and bring customers to the farm to see how product gets made.
