Students, families engage in STEAM activities
from Staten Island Advance
About 150 students and parents from across Staten Island spent a March day filled with computer science and Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics activities as part of the Department of Education's Computer Science for All initiative. Students gathered at the Borough President's Hall of Science at the Michael J. Petrides Complex in Sunnyside to join in activities. Families chose from a menu of coding activities, such as Scratch, ScratchJr, Sphero and Lego WeDo that allow students to program robots and create interactive stories, games and animations.
