Parliamentary committee wants Transportation Safety Board to oversee highway safety
from Ottawa Citizen
In a recent report on bus passenger safety, the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, recommended that the federal government consider expanding the mandate of the Transportation Safety Board of Canada to include the investigation of serious highway accidents, as well as all accidents involving motor vehicles designed to transport nine or more passengers. Families of crash victims and public safety advocates have been pushing for the expansion of the Transportation Safety Board’s mandate to include highway crashes.
