Celebrate With Pride, Wherever You Are
Pride celebrations are in full swing this month, but there's an extra buzz around this rainbow-tinted season as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising — that fateful date, 28 June, 1969, when police raided the Stonewall Inn in New York City's Greenwich Village and the LGBTQ+ patrons decided they would not fade quietly into the night. Lesbians, gay men and transgender people united around a common cause, and ignited a new generation of political activism. And while the march toward progress continues to move in fits and starts — and lags far behind in many countries — Pride is a time when hope dominates the conversation.
Whether you're in
New York City for WorldPride
this week or in a tiny village where Pride has yet to take hold, spend a moment reflecting on the brave LGBTQ+ pioneers who led our fight for equality. They paved the way for those of us who are able to be out professionals today and are the inspiration for the millions of others who don’t yet have that privilege, but refuse to give up on a brighter future.
