Canadian special forces buying 3 new surveillance aircraft from US for $188 million

from National Post

CANSOF will purchase three Beechcraft King Air surveillance aircraft from the US for $188 million with an expected arrival date of 2020. The deal was finalized on 26 April and initially announced at CANSEC. The full contract is for $247 million and will include acquisition and prime mission equipment alongside initial in-service support for the aircraft. The federal government is additionally setting up a competitive process to select a company to provide long-term in-service support for up to 20 years with an RFP expected in the summer of 2019. The aircraft will be flown by RCAF pilots but the specialised surveillance equipment onboard will be operated by members of the special forces more
