ER doctor warns about fireworks danger
from Midlan Daily News
The Fourth of July is a time of great celebration, but it can also be a time of great injury for individuals and families due to consumer fireworks. Understanding the dangers of handling fireworks and taking precautions can mean the difference between life and death. "We usually see an uptick (in injuries) during the summer holidays, but mostly around the Fourth of July," stated Dr. Zach Sawaya at MidMichigan Medical Center. Sawaya explained the cause of this was due to children either dropping the sparkler on the ground or grabbing the end soon after it's extinguished.
