FAA upgrades mobile app
from Point of Beginning
The FAA has partnered with Kittyhawk to redevelop the FAA's first mobile application so that flyers know whether it is safe to fly their drone. Although designed for recreational users, commercial drone fliers might also find the app useful for added situational awareness. The app does not allow users to obtain airspace authorizations to fly in controlled airspace; permission is only available through the FAA's Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability.
