|Message from the PBUS Home Office
Congratulations to PBUS Member Gene Newman, MCBA
Dear Members and Colleagues,
PBUS is honored to announce that Gene Newman, MCBA, was recently elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives serving District 61. Gene is a past President of PBUS and continues to support the mission of the national association.
Gene said of District 61:
"District 61 needs a representative that participates in a state government that is accountable to the voters and promotes opportunity and independence. We need a representative that understands the importance of facilitating family life and putting the education of our children above politics. We need a representative that embodies the values we uphold to build the future we deserve. I believe that I'm the candidate for the job."
Given Gene's new legislative commitment, he will not be able to serve as the Nominating Committee Chair. The new committee chair is Scott G. Hall, MCBA. Members of the Nominating Committee include: Scott Hall, MCBA, Gene Newman, MCBA and Armando Roche, MCBA.
The election for a new PBUS Board of Directors will take place in February 2020 at the Winter Conference, Membership Meeting & Expo in Las Vegas. The first call for nominations and all related-election rules will be distributed in the newsletter within the next two weeks. Nominations should be sent to Scott Hall at firstname.lastname@example.org AND the PBUS office at email@example.com.
