EPA finds lead-based paint rule lacks implementation
from USGlass News Network
The Environmental Protection Agency does not have an effective strategy to implement and enforce the lead-based paint rule, an internal audit from the EPA’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) determined in a report released recently. The EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule was issued in 2008 with the goal of protecting the public, especially children, from lead-based paint hazards occurring during repair or remodeling activities, such as window replacement, in homes and facilities built before 1978.
