FCC modifies rural health care program to improve telehealth support

from mHealth Intelligence

The Federal Communications Commission is making changes to the Universal Service Fund’s Rural Health Care Program in a bid to boost support for telehealth expansion. The changes, posted in the Federal Register, follow the commission’s vote last year to add more money to the 22-year-old program and adjust the formula for allocating those funds. The agency said the changes are being made “to promote transparency and predictability, and further the efficient allocation of limited Rural Health Care Program resources while guarding against waste, fraud and abuse.” more
