Hudson Institute researchers have pioneered 3-D bioprinted degradable meshes with stem cells for the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse (POP), in the hope of providing a safe, effective solution for millions of women worldwide. A study published in Acta Biomaterialia, led by international Ph.D. student Kallyanashis Paul and Dr. Shayanti Mukherjee, investigated a world-first personalized therapy approach involving a two-step mesh tissue-engineered fabrication process.
