Seat belts could be mandatory on new school buses in BC by 2021
from Vancouver Sun
An Agassiz school bus driver is one step closer in his campaign to get kids to buckle up in school buses. Gary Lillico, who regularly drives a bus full of kids on Highway 1, has collected more than 124,000 signatures for a petition calling for three-point seatbelts on school buses across Canada. The petition, launched more than a year ago, was taken up by Liberal child-care critic Laurie Throness, who is also MLA for Chilliwack—Kent, Lillico’s riding.
