from The Houston Chronicle
Houston Police Department Officer Taylor Roccaforte was shot three times while pursuing a robbery suspect south of Texas Southern University on Sept. 12. Although the first two bullets were stopped by his bulletproof vest, the third hit his colon, bladder, small intestines and a vein. One week later Taylor Roccaforte walked himself out of the hospital after five-and-a-half hours of surgery headed by Dr. Ethan Taub that required six units of plasma, one unit of platelets and seven units of red blood cells.
