Maine roofing contractor fined again for workplace safety violations

The Labor Department says a Maine roofing contractor is facing more than $275,000 in fines for serious workplace safety violations. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) cited Shawn Purvis, the owner of Saco, Maine-based Purvis Home Improvement Co. Inc., for "willful, repeat and serious workplace safety violations" at a job site in Springvale, Maine. The roofing contractor faces a total of $278,456 in new penalties.
