A scenic, nearly 51,000-acre cattle ranch in the hills near Livermore that straddles four counties could become the state's newest park in a decade — and one of its largest. In the proposed state budget he introduced Friday, Governor Gavin Newsom dedicated $20 million toward the purchase of a new state park.
