Robin recovering following spinal surgery

Robin Fortier, a seven-year-old Timmins boy who has been the focus of a number of community fundraisers in the last year or so, underwent a five-hour halo surgery to help straighten his spine. The surgery, which was originally expected to be carried out by a specialist in Delaware, took place at Montreal Children’s Hospital on Jan. 13. Fortier has diastrophic dysplasia, also known as diastrophic dwarfism.
