EPA redefines WOTUS rule
from Environment Analyst
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Army have finalized the rollback of the Obama-era Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule by issuing a new definition under the Clean Water Act (CWA). But environmental groups remain critical of the move. The Trump administration claims its Navigable Waters Protection Rule — combined with the repeal of the 2015 definition of WOTUS in December last year — will remedy the "federal overreach which impermissibly expanded the definition" of U.S. waters protected by the CWA.
