NGA director weighs chinese threat to US intelligence capabilities
Vice Admiral Robert Sharp, director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), discussed efforts by the Chinese government to increase its geospatial intelligence capabilities, and the pressing need for the United States to stay ahead of adversaries in that arena. Sharp commented during a question and answer presentation on current “great power” global competition between the United States and China, and likened the intensity of the current situation to Cold War-era competition between the United States and the Soviet Union.
