Coronavirus has revived the paid sick leave debate
Starting on Sunday, employers in the city of Pittsburgh will be required to provide workers with paid time off when they are sick or taking care of family members due to illness or injury. This isn’t a new ordinance passed in response to the novel coronavirus. It was enacted all the way back in 2015, but was held up by legal challenges until the state Supreme Court ruled in Pittsburgh’s favor last year.
