Emergency room doctors seeing increase of children falling out of windows since quarantine
Doctors in the Children's National Hospital Emergency Department are noticing more children than usual getting injured by falling out of windows. They're noticing an uptick in children ages 11 and under coming into the emergency room for accidental "window falls." Doctors in the emergency department at Children's National are also currently seeing an increase of children coming in with injuries due to falling down stairs, falling from a high chair, falling from a bike or scooter, burns from reaching for hot food out of a microwave, medication poisoning and ingestion of cleaning products.
