Coronavirus: Telehealth counseling joins fight against substance abuse

The number of people “showing up” for substance abuse treatment in the Dayton area has jumped to nearly 90% after counselors and therapists switched to using telehealth technology because of the COVID-19 pandemic. “This is huge, and it’s good,” Helen Jones-Kelley, executive director of the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board of Montgomery County, said.
