New NJ Transit bridge eliminates one more headache for commuters, Murphy says
As two NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line trains lumbered across the 112-year-old Raritan Bay bridge Tuesday morning, Gov. Phil Murphy got an up-close look at why the bridge is being replaced. While the governor and other officials threw a ceremonial shovel of dirt on the South Amboy side of the bay to commemorate the start of four years of construction, two barges containing cranes were floating in the bay ready to do the real work.
