ACFAOM
On Friday March 15, Dr. David Edwards received a certificate memorializing that the ACFAOM Board of Directors had unanimously voted to extend Honorary Membership on his ascension to the presidency of the APMA.
Recognizing the major contributions that a president of the APMA makes to the profession during the 1-year term, the ACFAOM Board started this tradition many years ago and it has become an annual event. The formal presentation of the framed membership certificate was made by ACFAOM President Dr. Jason Harrill during the meeting of the ACFAOM Board of Directors in Washington, DC, before the meeting of the APMA House of Delegates.

On occasion, the medical practice manager
may observe an employee who is becoming
increasingly more irritable and who is increasingly often
late for or absent from work. The
employee’s enthusiasm may have
waned, too, and his or her productivity may have dropped. Whereas
the employee was once a smiling
and upbeat member of the medical
practice team, the manager may notice that he or she now rarely cracks
a smile, and most of the time seems
cloaked in sadness.

The specific footwear features that women with RA require, and what would help them to find shoes that meet these requirements, are unknown. This study aimed to determine the factors that influence the choice of appropriate retail footwear by women with RA.

Falls are commonly reported post-stroke. Ankle-foot orthoses are often provided to improve safety and walking, but the effect of their use in the reduction of falls after stroke is unknown. A randomized controlled trial on the effects of AFO-provision after stroke was performed. Effects on clinical scales, 3D-gait kinematics and muscle-activity were previously reported. This paper aims to study the effects of AFO-provision on occurrence and circumstances of falls/near falls.
