The National Cancer Database (NCDB) announced the 2019 Call for Data. The 2019 Call for Data submission window will be open April 1 through June 30. Edit corrections are also due by June 30. Please visit the NCDB website for specific details.
The 2018 Cancer Quality Improvement Program (CQIP) report, CQIP 2018, has been released. This data-driven process and outcomes-based cancer quality improvement initiative has been updated with new cases from diagnosis year 2016 and updated cases from prior years from 1,500 Commission on Cancer (CoC)-accredited programs. It can be accessed from CoC Datalinks for CoC-accredited programs.
In addition, programs can also access the NCDB Survival Report, which includes five years of follow-up data through 2011 for cancer cases submitted during the 2018 Call for Data.
Cancer registrars throughout the world will join their colleagues, fellow medical professionals and community leaders to observe the 23rd annual National Cancer Registrars Week (NCRW), April 8-12. The purpose of NCRW is to emphasize the important role cancer registrars play in capturing data that inform cancer research, prevention and treatment programs. The theme for 2019 is capturing the Picture of Cancer. The NCRA has a number of tools to help you celebrate this week.
