AGTA finalizes dates, location for AGTA GemFair at JCK Las Vegas Show AGTA Share ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() AGTA has finalized its plans for the move of its AGTA GemFair at the JCK Las Vegas Show to the Mandalay Bay Hotel in 2011. GemFair will be open June 2 to 8, 2011, and will occupy the South Pacific and Islander ballrooms on the beach level of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. "We are pleased with our new location in these state-of-the-art ballrooms," stated Douglas K. Hucker, AGTA CEO. "And along with opening the show a day early, as we traditionally have, we are also staying open one day later than the main JCK Show to accommodate exhibitors, designers and buyers who want to shop in the AGTA GemFair." Anthony Thomas originally filed an ownership claim on the rough gemstone, but several parties claimed to own the 840-pound stone, which has been under lock and key with the Los Angeles police department since December. Judge John A. Kronstadt will hear the Thomas claim, as well as a separate claim by Mark Downie, as to the ownership on the morning of Sept. 8, and then he is expected to proceed with a bench trial and opening statements in the case.
