"I was curious to know if there was any published literature on the emotional or psychological consequences on nurses specifically related to resuscitation attempts," says Dawn E. McMeekin, RN, DNP, CNE, advanced clinical education specialist at Baycare Health System in Dunedin, FL.

The American Nurses Association is writing to notify you of an Occupational Safety and Health Administration Request for Information (RFI) in the Federal Register regarding the Prevention of Workplace Violence in Healthcare and Social Assistance Settings (found here). ANA will submit its own response to this RFI. ANA encourages you, your facility or practice to submit your responses in order for nurses’ voices to be heard on this critical issue and to reflect the experiences and views of your members. The due date for responses to this RFI is close of business April 6, 2017. Please submit your responses directly to OSHA through the link provided above. The RFI is broken down into a number of questions, many of which are intended for individual facilities or practices. If you do not feel that a particular question is applicable, please respond with “Not Applicable” ANA also suggests including a cover summary letter with your responses.
