Born and raised in the Sunshine State, Brett Holland grew up at the side of his late father, Mike Holland, learning not only how to build beautiful pool/spa environments, but equally important, why it is imperative to include the clients in the design process.
"Some of my fondest memories of my father were poolside," he recalls. "He showed me how important it is to look at the work from the client's point of view. The ultimate goal is to extend their living area into the backyard; by adding a watershape to the property, we create a place for serenity and memories."

If there's one thing that can band together a room full pool professionals, it's gross stories of ghastly filters. Everyone has one — if not several — and trading tales of wacky water quality, shocking skimmer baskets and foul filter systems is a quick way to make friends.
In honor of this unique tradition, we asked you to share with us the most horrifying filter disasters you've come across while on the job. We quickly received quite an assortment of entries, most of which had one thing in common: neglect over the course of months, if not years.

Amazon.com Inc. is starting to let brand owners delete listings on its site for products they deem fake, marking a sharp shift in its struggle to fight counterfeiters that cedes some of its responsibility to other companies.
The online retail giant on Thursday launched a new anticounterfeiting program, called Project Zero, that it says would better protect brands from scammers by letting them designate listings for removal, rather than going through a cumbersome reporting process with Amazon.

Kirk Deis writes: Last night I was tumbling through YouTube for what only felt like a few minutes but must have been hours. It started with just wanting to learn how to play a guitar chord progression and ended with me watching Elon Musk talk about artificial intelligence. We’ve all been there. When you’re in that tunnel, there’s no escaping it. It got me thinking: How did I get here?
