PHTA Releases New Association Health Care Plan for Texas Members
PHTA collaborated with United Healthcare to launch a group association healthcare plan (AHP) for Texas members.
Members using this plan will have a wide selection of plan options, nationwide network of quality health care providers and a variety of resources and digital tools to make health plans easier to use and help your employees better understand their benefits, coverage and costs.
We are working with our partners at Aqualine and United Healthcare to launch group healthcare plans in more states.

PHTA Austin Chapter Hosts 1st Virtual Chapter Meeting
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the PHTA Austin Chapter continues to do business. At the end of March, they took their regularly scheduled March chapter meeting online. Sixty-four people attended this virtual meeting including people from across the state that do not have a local PHTA Chapter.
Due to the success of this virtual meeting, they are planning on hosting their April 23 chapter meeting online. During this meeting, they look forward to continuing their regular programming of discussing industry hot topics and trends, education, and workforce development while including how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting the pool and hot tub industry. More information will be available soon.

CPO Training Goes Online
 Due to the pandemic that has impacted person-to-person contact worldwide, PHTA's efforts to create an online training platform for teaching and testing is an attempt to provide instructors and students with an alternative learning environment.
PHTA is now offering two options for the CPO Certified Pool & Spa Operator class:
- Pool Operator Primer (POP) Fusion Model: Students take the POP course and a one-day virtual class with an instructor; or
- Students attend a two-day virtual class with an instructor.
Instructors will proctor students, in real-time, virtually as the CPO exam is completed online. Students must have a device with a webcam to take the exam. The online exam offers high test security and results are instantaneous for students.

ASTM Announces April Public Review Opportunity
ASTM's public review on F2387 − 04 (Reapproved 2012) Standard Specification for Manufactured Safety Vacuum Release Systems (SVRS) for
Swimming Pools, Spas and Hot Tubs. This standard is currently available for public review (Society Review). The review began on April 1, 2020 is open for 30 days. PHTA members may contact Corice Leonard at ASTM at socrev@astm.org to access the standard and provide comments. Additional information can be found here.
