The APSP Water Conservation Coalition visited Capitol Hill in June to inform the debate around water conservation at a federal level and to work toward gaining the EPA WaterSense designation for the most efficient pool cover systems. The coalition met with the offices of United States Senators: Orrin Hatch, R-Utah; Todd Young, R-Indiana; Joe Donnelly, D-Indiana; Dianne Feinstein, D-California; and Kamala Harris, D-California. And the offices of United States Representatives: Jimmy Panetta, D-California; Susan Brooks, R-Indiana; and Paul Tonko, D-New York. The coalition also met with the EPA political staff in the office of the administrator, as well as the EPA's WaterSense career team. APSP's Coalition represents 100 percent of the automatic pool cover manufacturers in the United States.

The IHTA of APSP's Strategic Leadership Team and Engineering Committee have several projects in motion that are helping to promote and defend the portable hot tub segment of the industry including:
- Finalizing the re-write of the CHTT Certified Hot Tub Technician Manual, with a scheduled fall release date;
- Planning how best to engage and serve all hot tub retailers;
- Monitoring of daily legislative alerts regarding licensing and regulations that can negatively impact hot water.
