Jennifer Farwell, director of the western office, hopes to meet you soon. For the past month, Jennifer has been traveling around California getting to know our dedicated and passionate California members and industry partners. Through her travels, Jennifer has gotten to know more about the industry and how each partner's contribution helps grow and develop the pool, spa and hot tub industry. As the industry tackles hot topic issues like workforce development, our partners in California are highly invested in APSP education initiatives. On the local level, our California Industry Partners are highly active in community outreach and making Christmas dreams happen. A special thanks to The Foundation for Pool & Spa Industry Education (FPSIE), The National Plasterers Council (NPC), Hayward and The Independent Pool and Spa Service Association (IPSSA). These partners have dedicated time and energy to showcase to Jennifer what’s happening in California and how they are moving the industry forward. In the upcoming months, she wants to meet you. Our Technical and Standards department hit the road last week to attend and exhibit at APSP's December Central Virginia Chapter. The chapter brought in Cindy Davis, deputy director of building and fire regulations from the Virginia Department of Housing & Community Development, as the featured guest speaker to discuss code development in Virginia. In her presentation, she addressed the 2012 International Swimming Pool & Spa Code (ISPSC), which is enforceable in the state of Virginia, and spoke about what most inspectors look for when inspecting pools.
