RIBA unveils report 'proving' economic effects of good design

British architecture minister John Penrose has launched a report from the Royal Institute of British Architects showing how good design makes economic sense. Called "Good Design — It All Adds Up," the 12-page document showcases designs in housing, education, health, the workplace and public space that the RIBA says have had a positive effect on the people who use them. Interior Design Research Grant Program

The ASID Foundation announces the second annual Interior Design Research Grant Program, Transform, focusing on applied research in interior design and human behavior. The program will award up to three grants of up to $35,000 each. Research proposals addressing "how interior design impacts human behavior and well-being" are being accepted through Oct. 3. The grant program is open to design professionals, clients, scientists and educators, as well as interdisciplinary collaborations.
