In preparation for the American Society of Transplantation Hepatitis C Consensus Conference on Jan 30-31, 2017, we would like to obtain some information on the current practices regarding the use of hepatitis C infected donor organs. Please take 15 minutes to complete this anonymous survey at your earliest convenience.
Your feedback is important, as it will help us better understand current practices regarding the use of hepatitis C positive donor organs. Thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts, as they will be valuable in framing what is currently happening in the transplant community as we open this meeting.

The Spanish success derives from a specific organizational approach to ensure the systematic identification of opportunities for organ donation and their transition to actual donation and to promote public support for the donation of organs after death.

Approximately 200,000 kidney transplant recipients are living in the United States; they are at increased risk for cardiovascular and other adverse outcomes. Biomarkers predicting these outcomes are needed. Using specimens collected during the Folic Acid for Vascular Outcome Reduction in Transplantation trial, we determined whether plasma levels of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and cardiac troponin I are associated with adverse outcomes in stable kidney transplant recipients.

Minimally invasive surgical approaches in transplantation are gaining increasing interest, and many centers are reporting their, mainly laparoscopic, experiences. Robotic surgery (RS) has some hypothetical advantages over traditional laparoscopy and has been successfully applied, although infrequently to organ transplantation. Our goal was to review and critique the publications reporting RS use in organ transplantation. Most of the RS experience has been with living renal donor organ procurement and, to a lesser extent, with RS procedures in the transplant recipient.
